Commercial Lines Trainer
Full-Time / Dallas
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Training Program Development: Assist with developing, updating, and maintaining a structured training curriculum tailored to meet the needs of our commercial lines team. This includes but is not limited to coverage knowledge, risk assessment, underwriting guidelines, policy analysis, and sales techniques.
- Training Delivery: Conduct engaging and effective training sessions through various mediums, such as in-person workshops, virtual sessions, webinars, and online modules. Ensure training materials are up-to-date, relevant, and aligned with industry standards.
- Onboarding New Hires: Collaborate with HR and management to create a comprehensive onboarding program for new commercial lines team members, ensuring a smooth and successful integration into their roles.
- Continuing Education: Assist with the development and execution of ongoing training opportunities to support the professional growth and development of existing team members. Stay informed about changes in the insurance industry, regulations, and emerging trends to incorporate relevant updates into training materials.
- Performance Assessment: Provide management with effectiveness of training programs, gather feedback from participants, and make continuous improvements to optimize learning outcomes.
- Mentorship and Coaching: Provide one-on-one coaching and support to team members, identifying areas for improvement and offering guidance to enhance their skills and performance.
- Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure that all commercial lines team members adhere to company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards. Monitor quality assurance measures to maintain consistency and high-quality service.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, such as Production, Accounting, and Services, to foster a cohesive and coordinated approach to achieving agency objectives.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- High School Graduate (college degree preferred or work-related experience)
- Minimum of 5 years working in the P&C insurance industry
- Valid insurance license
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills for data analysis and reporting purposes
- Proficient in Microsoft Word
- Proficient in PDF Readers (Adobe PDF, Foxit)
- Proven experience in training and development, preferably within the insurance industry, with a focus on commercial lines.
- Strong knowledge of commercial insurance products, underwriting practices, and risk assessment
- Excellent presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to adapt training methods to suit the needs and learning styles of diverse team members.
- Demonstrated leadership and mentoring abilities.
- Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and time management skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Applied Systems products including EPIC, CSR24, & Indio
- Proficient in using training software, learning management systems, and other relevant tools.
- Insurance designation – CPCU, CIC, or CRM

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Prospect for business through cold calling, local networks, community involvement, and by developing professional relationships
- Create and maintain an active new business pipeline
- Provide professional risk management advice to prospects and clients
- Create insurance proposals, make sales presentations to prospective and existing clients on new and renewal business
- Obtain information for quotations and market accounts to various insurance carriers with assistance of support staff
- Interpret complex insurance information and respond appropriately
