E-Threat

Eight banking web sites in the United States, Canada, Great Britain and Thailand were attacked. The hackers then claimed to have 23,000 credit card numbers and threaten to post them online unless the banks agree to pay them $1 million. News of this quickly became public, and now the banks also needed to restore customer confidence. Cost: $1,000,000 ransom demand followed by further public relations expenses.
