Kirk Dreyer is an agency principal, general counsel and commercial producer for Swingle Collins & Associates. His career in insurance began in 2004 when he finally realized that being tied to the billable hour was, in fact, no way to live. Billing by the hour as a commercial litigator with Fulbright & Jaworski LLP (Houston, TX; now Norton Rose Fulbright) and Bell Nunnally & Martin LLP (Dallas, TX) did, however, prove to be an excellent base upon which to transition into insurance. Understanding complex corporate structure, contractual language, and how insurance interplays in business have all been invaluable in helping Mr. Dreyer manage his customers’ risk. Likewise, it has been helpful in a global sense for Swingle Collins & Associates’ clients who are faced with complex claims. Having dealt with the practical side of coverage issues in the context of litigation, Mr. Dreyer is often brought in to analyze claims and coverage issues. Both in his prior life as litigator and in his current life as an insurance professional, Mr. Dreyer has had the opportunity to work with a wide variety of businesses including, among others, wholesale food product, restaurants, real estate, manufacturing, construction, oil & gas, and temporary staffing. And as would make sense, he still works with professionals, including lawyers and law firms, on placing their professional liability insurance.

Outside of the office, Mr. Dreyer is involved in a variety of organizations and non-profits. He is a former member of the Board of Directors of the North Texas Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and still works closely with that organization through the Breathe Easy Foundation, a 501(c)(3) he co-founded in 2005.

Mr. Dreyer received his undergraduate degree from Baylor University and his juris doctorate from Baylor University School of Law.

He and his wife, Kathy, and four kiddos (another full time job in and of itself) live in Richardson.
