Truck Refrigeration Breakdown
A broker was awarded a load of fresh fish to be transported from Maine to Dallas. The refrigerated truck was to maintain a constant temperature of forty-five degrees. The refrigeration unit broke down and all the fresh fish spoiled. As it turns out, the trucking carrier’s insurance lapsed and coverage was not available. The contingent cargo policy of the broker would respond in this case, but only if the refer endorsement was included on the motor truck cargo policy.
