Swingle Collins & Associates insurance agents Ashleigh Cloud and Holt Wesson recently competed in the III Forks Golf Classic in May in support of TeamConnor. The annual event is to honor Dallas resident Connor Cruse who was diagnosed neuroblastoma at the young age of four. The namesake event is inspired by his bravery and battle of the deadly disease which lays its stake on one child every 16 hours. 600 children are diagnosed with neuroblastoma each year.
Childhood cancer is the number one disease killer in children, and claims the lives of approximately 1500 children each year. TeamConnor, along with the III Forks Golf Classic, have a shared mission: to put an end to childhood cancer. Participation in the golf tournament benefits TeamConnor and helps raise funds for the discovery of better treatment for the many brave young warriors fighting cancer. Swingle Collins & Associates backs this fundraising effort each year by participating on behalf of TeamConnor and sponsoring a hole in the tournament.f more children afflicted with Asthma, Cystic Fibrosis, Diabetes, and Pediatric AIDS combined – and yet the National Cancer Institutes allocates only three percent of its budget to pediatric cancer.
Because of Connor’s inspirational journey, TeamConnor’s many fundraising events have accumulated more than $1 million for the cure for childhood cancers and like Connor’s relentless spirit, will continue to do so in the years to come.
Connor Cruse’s story will live on through his team of volunteers. For more information on TeamConnor or to donate to the cause, please visit here
